I put up a post a little while ago lamenting the end of Strut's excellent Disco Not Disco series and how they should put out a volume three. What I didn't expect is that they would put out a volume zero!
Bill Brewster, author of Love Saves the Day and Last Night A DJ Saved My Life ("There's a Ghost In My House" in the, er, house!) compiled his favorite left-field disco and chunky punky jams in this new comp, which I have not gotten yet but already has my favorite Konk and Shriekback tracks on it.
If I made my own DND comp I would probably skew more to the early 80s Whitey P Whiterton artists that did more dubby instrumental work and throw on tracks like these:
Simple Minds ~ Theme For Great Cities
Kid Creole & The Coconuts ~ I'm a Wonderful Thing, Baby*
Bauhaus ~ In Fear Of Dub
Can't forget the bootleg artwork!
*yes, I'm aware that Kid Creole is only kind of white.

fuck if i don't hate being "That Guy" but i'm gonna....sorry, woody.
Tim Lawrence wrote the very excellent Love Saves The Day, not Brewster.
i've just recently discovered the "disco not disco" series, and am loving them. also, Ze Records' "Mutant Disco" volumes are pretty damn good. found a dub version of "out come the freaks" that i'm trying to edit up.

Shit I totally just got served. Oh well, at least my readership is more educated than I am.
On a sidenote, I'm assuming everyone is in love with Mary Elizabeth Winstead (girl in fake cover)
